Otis is a 9-year-old Siberian Husky in Athens, AL, who needs $2,000 for MRI.

We got Otis from a Siberian Husky/Alaskan Malamute rescue organization in Omaha Nebraska in October 2015 about 10 months after we had lost one of our other babies to cancer. Otis was a breeder dog before he was rescued and had a bad past but he’s overcome it until recently he collapsed and had a grand mal seizure from what the vet believes was a stroke but needs an MRI and CT scan to confirm.

Otis is a Mama’s boy. He follows me around the house, especially when we first got him, he was so afraid I’d abandon him but he’s slowly learned I may leave but I’ll always come back. He howls when he’s hungry or thirsty or just wants attention or if he wants me to take him outside even if he just came in came someone else taking him out. The seizures affect his eyesight so he doesn’t come upstair

My husband is our only source of income, my daughter and I both have numerous health issues and both take numerous expensive medicines, even with insurance and we had to fix all 3 vehicles, we just need this scan so we can find out what caused his stroke and seizures

Otis suddenly collapsed one night a couple of months ago, luckily we were home. He sat up on his bed, his lower jaw trembled and he fell over seizing and foaming at the mouth. It lasted about 1:30 before it finally ended & when it did Otis had trouble moving his back legs. We rushed him to the vet and were told he thinks Otis had a stroke and ordered MRI and CT scan of his brain which is $3500

He’s terrified of thunder and will get on the couch with me if he can (like I said the seizures affect his eyesight so he doesn’t come upstairs as much as he to where my room is) and he’ll burrow into my side. He hates water but loves the snow. He also loves cool weather but hates hot weather and LOVES squeaky balls. He likes being brushed but only on whichever side he says is okay; he’ll lay down
