About this campaign

Poor Ozzy found himself as a stray and when no one came to claim him at the county shelter, he was transferred to a rescue. Sadly, when the rescue found swollen lymph nodes that possibly indicated cancer, they tried to find an adopter with cancer experience. When no adopter could be found, Ozzy was transferred into our sanctuary program.

While we don't know much about Ozzy's past, we can see evidence of a very rough life. With a broken toe that was never set, missing pieces of his ear and scars all over his face, we can only imagine the horrors that he's lived through. Yet, Ozzy is as sweet and friendly and affectionate as any hound we've ever cared for. He loves all humans and canines!

In addition to his swollen lymph nodes, Ozzy also tested positive for Lyme disease, has high blood pressure and extremely high proteinuria. He's taking medications for his blood pressure, for Lyme and he's eating a special diet (high protein, high fat and low carbohydrate diet with added omega 3). Ozzy adores food and eats with gusto!

Ozzy underwent a needle aspiration of his lymph nodes and the cytology suggested lymphoma. We now need to stage this cancer to see what options are available for treatment and long-term care. Ozzy needs x-rays and an ultrasound to determine the extent of cancer in his body.

As a registered nonprofit rescue that specializes in caring for medically needy animals that have no other options, we rely on donations to pay for vet bills. We have raised funds for Ozzy's initial lab tests but need to raise funds for his x-rays and ultrasound.
