Panda is a 5 year old Shih Tzu in Chicago, , who needs $2,000 for Amputation of the Right Back Leg / Partial Pelvis.

Panda has spent all five of her years in my family’s life, keeping us company and providing us with joy. She was a puppy when we brought her home, so small that she slept on my pillow, or on the table next to my parents as they worked on their computers due to quarantine.

She has had hip issues since she was younger, however it was unknown how deeply they ran until the day of me writing this. We initially were told she had a torn ACL, however upon being taken in for surgery, it was discovered she had a massive, aggressive tumor that totally obliterated her femur. The bone is gone. Aggressive surgery is required in turn, to at least give her a good quality of life.

She is a little ray of sunshine, very polite and sweet. Always up for cuddles, and has continued to work with the energy she has with through her pain. She loves playing fetch, chewing on bones, running in the grass, and playing tug of war. These may have become more difficult without the use of her back leg, but she has adapted incredibly as is. I know with medical help, she will pull through.

Her tumor is more aggressive than even our veterinarian orthopedist has seen in his career. She desperately needs this amputation to stop the spread, as well as chemo to ensure it does not continue to hurt her as it currently is doing. This needs to happen now.
