About this campaign
As Rouzbeh B. battled kidney cancer over the last year, her adopted dog, Panda, has been by her side every step of the way.
"Panda is such a smart and gentle dog," Rouzbeh tells Waggle. "She picks up on the smallest of nuances in my behavior as well as others."
And even while fighting cancer, Rouzbeh does everything she can to make sure Panda gets the best care possible. "She loves to be pampered and brushed and have her belly rubbed every day and be treated like a princess. I've gone out of my way to cook her real natural foods every day, like organic meats and poultry, taking the time to debone everything. She's walked twice a day, goes to the dog park every weekend, and lots of car rides too," Rouzbeh says.
So when Panda began urinating blood recently Rouzbeh rushed her to VCA Animal Medical Center of Southern California. "Her vet initially thought this was common of a UTI, but two weeks of antibiotics didn't help things," Rouzbeh says. "After getting X-rays, we discovered she has bladder stones. Unfortunately, she's lost a lot of blood this whole time and is in dire need of not just surgery but a blood transfusion ASAP."
Rouzbeh is crushed. She's struggling to pay for all of Panda's medical care while she fights a medical and financial crisis of her own. "I have been battling kidney cancer for over the past year and have lost virtually everything I've had over it," she says. "I've lost my job, drained all my savings, maxed out all my credit cards, and am now even living under someone else's roof for shelter until I can get back on my feet."
Panda and Rouzbeh need your help to make 2022 a bit brighter!
