About this campaign
Paquita was found inside a dumpster and brought to Cheyenne Animal Shelter where I currently work. Since she was too young to live at the shelter, a foster was need it and I volunteered as soon as I saw her. Paquita has 3 adoptive cat siblings that adore her as much as she does and is part of a big human family.
She’s a little menace. There’s no ankles she won’t attack or unsuspected cats, even when they’re napping!
She’s a joy to everyone and I can’t imagine my life without her.
Paquita has miraculously survived Panleukopenia when she was a little over a month old. The mortality in kittens is of 90% yet, she made it through it. She’s a little fighter and I know she doesn’t want to give up this time either. Life shouldn’t be this unfair for a kitten and I want to do everything I can to help her.
She woke up yesterday morning cold and lethargic. Our local vet diagnosed her with kidney failure and referred us to Fort Collins Veterinary Emergency And Rehabilitation Hospital. The cause of her condition is unknown to everyone, especially since she was ok the day prior. We’re currently waiting on her blood work results, so we can find out if is congenital or something else.
Overnight care is extremely expensive and is all paid up front. I maxed out my credit card just so we can find out the cause of her kidney failure. She will need constant treatment of fluids for several days to flush her kidneys.
