I found Parker one evening while I was walking to the store. I heard something that caught my attention and stopped to listen. Sure enough, it was the tiny lion voice of a large kitten heart saying, "mew?". He was hiding in a culvert so I scooped him up and brought him home. He was so very hungry and ate ravenously. He was immediately a new member of the family.

We already had two cats and one dog so we wondered how Parker would fit in. He became instant best friends with Alaska (our mixed breed 2yo dog). The cats were not so friendly. They stayed away. Parker's favorite place to be is nuzzled between my ear and shoulder. I think that's because when I carried him home, this is where I instinctively put him to tell him it was going to be ok.

Parker never stopped trying to be friends with our other two cats. It finally payed off. He is so loving, he is always rubbing his head on our other pets and they finally accepted him. He loves to watch the you tube channel TV FOR CATS so he can chase the snakes and worms across the screen.

When we took Parker to the vet for the first time, we were told he had feline immunodeficiency virus. The doctor thought he wouldn't even survive the week. After a round of antibiotics, he seemed just fine. He was doing well until about a week ago, he became lethargic and his appetite weakened. He has a fever and seemingly overnight, this huge cyst has appeared on his right cheek.

We can't even afford a trip to the vet for a rabies shot right now, let alone FIV treatment. My husband is the sole provider at this time while I am taking some much needed self-improvement classes. We have zero disposable income and are struggling with rent and groceries.
