Meet Patriot.

When we were at Patriot's colony, our hearts broke for him.

His caretaker told us she didn't think he would survive another South Florida summer. As a super senior cat already struggling outdoors, she feared he simply didn't have the strength left to endure the brutal heat, heavy rains, and daily hardships of life on the streets.

Looking at Patriot, we couldn't help but wonder how many summers he had already survived on his own. We knew he deserved better than spending his final days struggling outside.

At Wild Whiskers, we specialize in helping community cats who are no longer thriving outdoors. Sometimes they recover and return to their colonies. Sometimes they find loving adoptive homes. And sometimes, cats like Patriot need something different—a safe place to spend their golden years surrounded by love and care.

When Patriot came into our care, he was very sick. What worried us most was that he was not only a senior cat, but also had a heart murmur. We took things slowly, giving his tired body time to rest and heal. There were days he slept so deeply that we would quietly check on him just to make sure he was okay.

As he began to recover, we discovered another source of suffering. The few teeth Patriot had left were severely diseased and causing him constant pain. After multiple veterinary visits and careful monitoring, Patriot underwent a full-mouth dental extraction. He may be toothless now, but he is finally free from the pain he had likely been living with for years.

Today, Patriot remains in our care as a super senior medical foster. While he is doing much better, his veterinary expenses continue to add up, and we need your help to continue providing the care he deserves.
