Paulus is a 7-year-old Beagle in Allentown, PA, who needs $2,000 for tumor removal.

Paulus the Beagle went from being abused and homeless in Tennessee to an emotional support animal for his very own human boy, Devon D., in Pennsylvania.

Devon tells Waggle when it was time for him to go to college, Paulus was right by his side.

"He became a great mascot for the school and was the only dog on campus," Devon says. "Classmates would stop to give him hugs since they were missing their pets."

But Devon recently got devastating news: Paulus has extra medullary plasma cell cancer. If the spot of cancer is removed, the outlook for Paulus is good.

Devon is now studying to be a nurse and lives on a college student-sized budget.

"It is almost impossible to pay for right now," Devon says. "The surgery is important to save his life."
