About this campaign

Paxton came to me through adoption. I was coming out of service and was extremely unwell. I had always wanted a dog and my partner at the time thought it would be a good idea to get him. We went to agencies for months not finding the "right" dog and he came along. He has been with me through the roughest time and I want to give him the best as a little gratitude for saving my life.

Paxton is a chow mix, very protective of me and his close family members. It takes a long time for him to build trust with another human, but once he knows you won't hurt him, he will be the best boy in the world. I've taken up a position that allows me to work from home so I can spend more time with him.

He's special because when I was at my lowest he was there. Even though he doesn't talk the fact that I knew he needed me, kept me going. I do enjoy seeing him smile when he gets to jump around. Right now I have to limit his actions because of his knee issue

Paxton has a Patella Luxation where his kneecap isn't locking in. He had this since birth, and for some doggos it's not an issue, but for him, it's gotten worse, and his ACL has been compensating for this luxation. He needs surgery to get this corrected, or else as his life progresses, his pain will get worse, and he's my hiking buddy during the summer.

I'm on a fixed income and did not plan for such huge expense. I regret not getting him insurance because I thought it was a hoax. He's a good boy and I want give him a good life. I moved out of state as well so he can have a yard and that took a lot of my financials as well.
