Peaches is doing well after her major jaw surgery, and we couldn’t be more grateful to see her making progress.
She is recovering, healing, and perhaps most importantly, learning what it feels like to be loved. ❤️
For a girl who has been through so much, these quiet moments of trust mean everything. She is discovering that gentle hands, kind words, comfort, and affection can be part of her life now.
Peaches still has a little healing and growing to do before she’s ready for her next chapter, but we’re hopeful that soon she will be officially adoptable and ready to find her forever family. 🏡🐾

About this campaign
Peaches is a sweet senior Poodle mix whose life was given a second chance thanks to CAMO Dog Rescue. Rescued from the Arlington Animal Shelter just in time.
When she arrived, it was discovered that she had suffered a broken jaw. The fracture on the lower right side of her mandible had healed on its own, but it healed crooked and became fused out of alignment. Thankfully, the bone is now solid, stable, and causes her no major issues. While she still has some remaining teeth that may eventually need to be removed, her veterinary team is taking a conservative approach. For now, they are focused on keeping her comfortable through dental cleanings and antibiotics while preserving as much support for her jaw as possible.
Despite her past hardships, Peaches is in remarkably good health and has an incredible spirit. She is a funny, quirky girl who keeps everyone smiling with her unique personality. One of her favorite tricks is walking on her hind legs, a talent that never fails to delight anyone lucky enough to meet her. Peaches may be a senior, but she still has plenty of love, laughter, and charm to share. Her resilience, joyful nature, and sweet disposition make her a truly special dog who deserves a safe, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years.

Peaches Update 🐾❤️
Peaches is healing day by day after her major jaw surgery. Her jaw is as fixed and stabilized as it can be, and while it will be crooked, we are so grateful for how far she has come.
The right side of her jaw was completely shattered, so this has been a long and difficult road for her. She still has plenty of healing ahead, but she is taking it one day at a time.

Peaches recently had her one-month recheck appointment following her jaw surgery. Due to her age, her veterinarian explained that complete healing of her jaw remains uncertain. The good news is that the bone is beginning to remodel, which is an encouraging sign.
During surgery, nearly all of Peaches' teeth had to be removed, leaving only two or three. Unfortunately, there was very little healthy bone remaining in her jaw. Because there was no adequate bone available for anchorage, placing a metal plate was not possible. Instead, the surgical team repaired her jaw using wire stabilization along with a bone graft.
The veterinarian noted that the opposite side of her jaw is also concerning, as there is very little bone remaining there as well. At this stage, the primary hope is that at least one side of the jaw will successfully fuse and provide long-term stability.
Despite the challenges she faces, Peaches continues to show remarkable resilience. We remain hopeful and grateful for every positive step forward as she continues her recovery journey
