Pear is a 6-year-old Domestic shorthair in Edina, MN, who needs $2,000 for around-the-clock fluids and nutrients.

Pear is 6 years old and comes from many generations of feral cats that are born in Minneapolis. We took in 3 of them when we moved and could have pets. She is a very smart girl and very caring. She has 3 siblings. Before this issue she was a bit overweight but very healthy with a very healthy coat. She has many nicknames including mamas, pretty girl (her favorite), short legs and many more.

Pear is essentially the caregiver of the household. She is very loving and cares for her Mom when her mom is ill by cuddling up with Mom. If she feels someone is in distress she will run to that person and try to help. She cleans her 3 other siblings regularly and watches over them when they are playing. She has always been incredibly compassionate and caring to everyone in the house.

I (Mom) have been out of work for 2 years due to seizures but have been able to return to work as of May 3rd thankfully but checks haven't come in yet. My husband got me lasik 2 years ago and it changed my life but I would give that up in a heartbeat for her to be healthy.

She wasn't eating for about a week so we took her in and the vet said she was constipated but only sent us home with an IV to give her for a couple days. This didn't hep so we brought her into another vet that said the same thing but gave us meds. Eventually she had to be put on a feeding tube but kept ripping it out. Now the vet says they cannot help us and wanted to euthanize her.

She displays a behavior that none her siblings do in that if she thinks you are hurt or in distress then she will run over and hop up on you to try to help you. She has helped Mom during her seizures and has woken up Papa (Dad) from nightmares. She has also taken our newest addition (Mochi) under her wing and has been teaching her many things and has had a big impact on Mochi.
