Little Pearl came into our lives two years ago when his feral Mommy brought him and his two siblings to our porch to live. Pearl and his brothers eyes were not open nor were the walking. Pearl was the first one to crawl out of the insulated box and onto the porch. Momma put him back in and shortly they were all crawling toward the opening. Since momma was feral she tried twice to take them away.

Pearl is the mother of the group. Even though he is male he took on the momma responsibilities when we introduced another feral kitten to the family about 8 months after we brought the boys in. Pearl is very vocal and lets you know when he needs something. He also alerted us to his illness. He loves to sleep with our daughter and is very close and bonded with our little girl doggie, Charlotte.

Pearl is well bonded with our puppy Charlotte. They play in the tubes together every day. Pearl also took our little feral rescue girl kitten under his wing and became a “mommy” figure to her. She misses him very much and looks everywhere for him. Pearl loves climbing their tower and laying on the window hammocks in the warm sun. He is a picky eater and doesn’t over eat. Pearl is one of a kind!

Pearl has been very healthy until this illness. We rushed him to our local vet last night to find out he had a urinary blockage. They performed a procedure on his to unblock him and to surgically place a catheter. After he stabilized we had to transport him to our main vet in Akron Ohio for further evaluation and care. He will need a special diet and care to lessen his chances of reoccurrence
