About this campaign

Meet Pearl, the cutest 6-month-old Pomsky puppy, only weighing 7 pounds. On May 16, Pearl’s owner reported she had fallen and brought her to the vet in distress. X-rays confirmed a serious humerus fracture—her right leg was broken at an angle that would not heal without surgery. She was sent home in a temporary splint, with a plan to see a surgeon within 24 hours. But that visit never happened.

When Pearl returned to the ER about a week later—her splint had fallen off, and the truth emerged: her injury had been left untreated. The family made the unthinkable decision not to proceed with surgery. Instead, they chose euthanasia. A compassionate doctor stepped in and convinced them to surrender her to rescue. That same day, A Pathway to Hope and RBARI joined forces to save Pearl.

A volunteer transported her immediately to a specialty hospital, where she was started on IV pain management. Pearl had been silently suffering for nearly two weeks and was unable to move her leg. The break is high up on her leg, making this an especially complex and delicate procedure, particularly given her tiny size. Her surgeon believes she can recover with orthopedic surgery and a plate, but because she is in so much pain, they cannot yet rule out nerve damage.

Still, we have hope. And Pearl has a fighting spirit that has captured the hearts of her medical team.

💔 Please, donate now to help fund Pearl’s urgent surgery and hospitalization. Her surgery will cost over $10,000. Pearl’s surgery is urgent, and her road to healing will be long. But with you by our sides, this rescue can commit to giving her the chance she was denied—a life without pain, and a future full of love.
