We adopted Pebbles( a longhair Dachshund)almost 4 years ago as a 1 month old puppy who was born with an underdeveloped right shoulder. We named her Pebbles in honor of my one sister's Dachshund's memory and because our Pebbles had a little white pebble marking on her forehead with a couple months after her birth. She resides with us and another Dachshund named Nutmeg who just turned 4 years old.

Pebbles sleeps with Nutmeg (our other Dachshund) as they do not like to be apart from one another. Pebbles is a very attentive & observant little one who watches and takes everything in and follows my routine as I take care of her and Nutmeg; meaning she seems to know the exact order of the routine and wants to be right by my side at all times. Pebbles loves everybody and shows it affectionately.

I along with my spouse are living on a fixed income as we are both on disability and do not have much credit established any longer due to lowered income. Pebbles is only 4 years old and to lose her at such a young age would be devastating as she is the light of our lives.

Pebbles has a distended abdomen due to excess fluid which our Vet. told us is due to a critically low albumin level. She was referred to an Internist at a local referral hospital called Northeast Veterinary Referral Hospital in Plains, Pa. whom is presently running a series of extensive tests to determine the cause of her condition which could involve any number of serious health issues.

Pebbles has two favorite toys( a little tan pony and a green BoBo toy). She loves to howl along with Nutmeg especially when I sing to her as she loves music. She loves to give lots hugs and kisses to almost anybody. She caught onto playing fetch with a few other toys right away even though has only three functioning legs. She loves to watch tv if there are dogs on there barking or whimpering.
