Pedro is a 2-year-old DSH Cat in Oakland, NJ, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Care.

Pedro Pascal is a medical mystery – who desperately needs YOUR help.

He is a loveable stray cat who was battling the streets on his own with no home or shelter. Luckily, he had a loving human to provide him with food regularly until he disappeared for days, then returned, barely able to walk. We didn't hesitate to come to his aid and welcomed him into our care at Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge.

Pedro was initially believed to have been hit by a car due to wounds and limited mobility. Further tests revealed that he was dealing with severe pain, swollen joints, parasites, elevated WBC and an ultrasound showed irregularities in his spleen and liver.

Poor Pedro's condition deteriorated to the point he was defecating and urinating on himself. On top of all this, he also developed a pressure sore wound that required surgical intervention, stitches and a drain.

After extensive testing and monitoring, it was found that Pedro had developed a chronic condition that no one could seem to pinpoint the cause of - a mystery yet to be solved! Pedro is still being closely monitored at the hospital and undergoing additional diagnostics in an effort to find answers.

Throughout all of this, Pedro has remained bright and alert, and oh so sweet! He loves attention (and food!) and has charmed everyone who comes into contact with him.
