About this campaign

Pelusi came into my life in 2016 when I found him under a restaurant’s trashcan. I brought him home that January, just in time to save him. He became my fourth cat. My other three also had medical issues—sadly, two later passed away. I named him Pelusi because his fluffy fur reminded me of the Spanish word pelusa, meaning fuzz. He’s been my little fighter and a true blessing.

Pelusi is being treated at North Shore Animal League (11050) and is in critical condition due to a second urinary obstruction within 24 hours. He needs continued hospitalization and constant monitoring to prevent another blockage. A Perineal Urethrostomy is ultimately needed to save his life. Euthanasia was an option, but I want to give him the chance to truly live.

Pelusi is the quietest member of the family. He suffered emotionally while living outdoors, and earning his trust is a true honor. Though shy by day, he becomes chatty at night when the house is quiet. Hearing him play, run, and ask for pets warms our hearts—because we know how far he’s come to feel safe, loved, and finally at home.

I'm currently unemployed and recently lost my 13-year-old cat to an unexpected tumor. I'm still paying off her medical bills while also managing expenses for my other cat’s diabetes care. It’s been an emotional and financial struggle during an already hard time.
