Penelope came into our lives just over a week ago, and from the moment we brought her home, she became family. She is a 9-week-old miniature dachshund with the sweetest personality. She follows us everywhere, loves curling up in our laps, and has already brought so much joy into our home. Even in such a short time, the bond we have with her feels unforgettable.

Shortly after bringing Penelope home, we learned she has a severe heart murmur caused by Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a congenital heart defect. Without surgery, this condition can become life-threatening. We are currently working with Garden State Vet Specialists to get her the life-saving heart surgery she urgently needs so she can have the healthy future she deserves.

Penelope may be tiny, but she has the biggest personality. She loves following everyone around, falling asleep in our arms, and trying to play with toys much bigger than she is. She makes everyone smile instantly and has already become the heart of our family. Watching such a sweet puppy fight through this so young is heartbreaking, and we just want to give her the chance to grow up happy and heal
