Penny came into our lives 8 years ago as a tiny puppy, a gift for my son's 8th birthday. From then on, she's been his constant companion, even as he attends school online. Despite growing to 80 lbs, she still thinks she's a lap dog, curling up with him every chance she gets.

Penny is a beloved member of our household. Usually, she sleeps upstairs with us, but her leg injury prevents her. She loves walks and greets everyone warmly, even strangers and other animals. Her sociable nature brings joy to our family every day.

Penny's demeanor is usually serene, she’ll gently vocalize or boop us if feeling overlooked, ensuring her presence is noticed.

Per the veterinary recommendation Penny needs surgery (TTA) Tibial Tuberosity Advancement: Cranial Cruciate Ligament Repair. Essentially, she has a ligament rupture in the knee joint. This injury is somewhat similar to an ACL tear in humans. Repairing this injury before her other hind leg experiences a similar injury is creating additional strain and concern.

With finances ties up in divorce, affording this unexpected pet care is daunting. Restoring her health means everything, bringing us all joy and relief.
