About this campaign

We moved into our house in the summer of 2019. We started looking for a dog shortly thereafter. We adopted Penny from Anti-Cruelty Society when she was about 6 months old.

We noticed Penny had some limping so we took her to Cary Grove Animal Hospital Hospital where we talked with Dr. Fritz Trybus. Penny's diagnosis: cranial cruciate ligament rupture in her right hind leg. TPLO is the recommended surgery because of the excellent long term stabilization & functionality of the repaired limb & is the gold standard procedure for large and active dogs.

Penny is a special member of our family because she is growing up with our 3 kids. Penny loves holding hands. If she notices someone is sad or crying, she comes to lay by your side. She's a very loyal family who looks after our little ones. If the kids are already in bed, we tell her to "walk quiet" on her way to her bed & she knows how to tip toe ever so gently to not wake them up!

TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery is the best surgery option for Penny because she is a large (62 pounds dog) and active dog. This surgery is a necessary but unexpected expense, so we are desperate for some assistance. We appreciate it immensely.
