Penny is a 5-year-old Boxer/Pitbull in Ozark, MO, who needs $1,200 for Mast Cell Tumor Removal.

Anyone who knows me knows that Penny girl has my whole heart. I got Penny when she was 12 weeks old from a family who couldn't keep her due to their living situation. I had just moved out of my parent's house a week previous and I knew I wanted to get a dog. I had my heart set on something small, but when I found Penny, I knew that she was what I needed in my life.

Penny loves her family to the moon and back. She loves to snuggle with mama, beg for chicken from her John John, pout outside Matthew's door, cry for Grandma on FaceTime, and steal Nelson's toys when he's having too much fun. Penny didn't care for Nelson much when we brought him home, he's a Lab Australian Shepard mix who is lively, but these two have grown to have an inseparable bond.

Penny's favorite activity is snuggling. She loves to sneak on the couch with Mama while John John is out of the room. She doesn't just cry for JOhn's grilled chicken, she screams and just gets louder until we acknowledge her. She sidelines Nelson every time he's playing in the backyard just because she can. She is the queen of zoomies and we love when she tucks her little booty in to run faster.

In 2019 at age 2, I found a Mast Cell Tumor under her chin. She had surgery and all was well until recently, in May, when I found another Mast Cell Tumor in the same area. Since May, I have noticed 2 more similar sized and shaped masses that will need surgery to remove. Penny has been receiving care from Dr. Flathers at Angel Animal Hospital in Springfield, MO since she was a baby.

I have recently been experiencing reduced hours which has been straining financially. Unfortunately during COVID and nursing school, I used credit cards to get by and paying them off has been a huge priority which leaves little extra cash at the end of the month.
