About this campaign

Penny Sue joined our family in 2015. She’s a German Shorthaired Pointer, the runt of her litter, and a gentle family companion. We have a stable, rescue-focused home with a college student, a magnet student, our rescued Lab Oakley (adopted last year), three rescue cats, a leopard gecko, and a bearded dragon. All pets are current on vaccines; we reliably manage meds and vet follow-ups.

Penny Sue was treated at Bar Skyline Vet Hospital after boarding on Aug 14, 2025. The next day she showed a clinical decline—bloodwork revealed renal failure and severe dehydration. X-rays and a barium test suggest a possible intestinal blockage from toy stuffing. She is on IV fluids, anti-nausea meds, and close monitoring; surgery may be required.

Penny Sue has been our heart since 2015. She was the runt of her litter, and my husband’s dream German Shorthaired Pointer. She’s loyal, gentle, and patient—whether with our Labrador Oakley, our three cats, or even our lizards. Penny is more than a hunting dog—she’s family, our shadow, and a beloved member of our rescue household.

We’ve paid $1,100 at Bar Skyline Vet Hospital, and our CareCredit is maxed at $5,000 from ongoing care for all our animals, making sure each has been cared for from the start to today. With a college and magnet student at home, we need help so Penny Sue can recover.
