About this campaign

I adopted my sweet girl from a rescue on April Fool’s Day, 2021. She is my favorite decision and my sweetest gift. Penny lives with me and we often host Airbnb folks and their cats and dogs. Penny had the sweetest temperament and gets along with all the animals, but the people are by far her favorite.

Penny is a snuggle bug. She loves sleeping anywhere near me; she prefers to sleep under the covers and in cozy items like her dog bed and a pillow. She is a sun seeker and loves laying on the porch. Penny is calm and docile but adventurous. We go paddle boarding often, and as she is registered as a psychiatric service dog, she has flown and done amazing, sleeping through takeoff and landing 🙌🏼

I have some savings, but not enough to cover her procedures. Have pet insurance but they said her red count is an pre-existing condition and they won’t cover anything related to that. Care credit and scratch pay have denied me due to my credit.

When I got Penny, she was secretly sick. I didn’t realize anything was wrong until we went to the initial vet and they said she was incredibly anemic, had a parasite, and needed a blood transfusion. I cried as my roommate called the rescue and asked what to do. As we’ve gone on, she’s not been regenerating red cells so we are working to understand and diagnose what is happening. VRCC is the vet.

Penny is a gem. She loves going on rides, with her favorite place to ride behind my head on my shoulders. She loves eating frozen peas, carrots, green beans, and the occasional blueberry. She loves chasing her toys and will dance for treats. Food really excites her and she loves rolling around in the grass. She is so silly and I just love her!
