Peppa is a 1-year-old pitbull mix in Coventry, RI, who needs $1,400 for patellar subluxation surgery to correct her knee cap.

Our baby Peppa came into our lives when she was 8 weeks old. She was given to us by my daughter, Mykaila, who got her from a friend whose dog had had puppies and didn't have homes for them. We had not had a dog in about five years, as our three previous dogs had all passed away, and my daughter knew that we were looking to adopt or foster a puppy, and that is how we got our beautiful baby.

Our household consists of myself, my husband and our three cats, Mollie 12 yrs, Milo 8 yrs and Mikey 1.5 yrs. Peppa loves the cats, but Milo is the only one who plays with her. Peppa loves everyone and is happy to lick your face off when she meets you. She loves to sleep in our bed with us and is very cuddly. She loves her belly rubbed and will throw herself on the ground in front of you.

We set up a go fund me campaign to raise $3000.00 for her surgery. We raised only $1200.00. Normally we wouldn't ask for help, but our septic tank collapsed during the heavy rains and we were left with a large sink hole in our yard. This was very expensive to repair.

Peppa started limping at around 6 mos old. We originally thought she had twisted her knee by falling in one of the many holes she has dug in our yard. She was diagnosed with patellar subluxation in both of her knee caps. Further xrays and scans showed the need for surgery to correct her left knee. We brought her for a consult with Dr. David Clark who confirmed this.

Peppa has a very best friend named Odin, he is my daughters pomski who is about 4 mos younger than Peppa. The two of them love to play with each other and Peppa gets very excited even at the sound of his name. Peppa loves to be outside and will eat anything on the ground that she can get her paws on. She loves to play fetch and to chase and be chased.
