Perceval was adopted from Dog n Kitty City Humane Society of Dallas in January 2016. His previous owner never came to the shelter when they were informed he was found. He was estimated to be 1.5 years old at the time with a case of heart worm that was taken care of immediately after his adoption. He is truly unique in that he does not bark- only happy barking a handful of times.

We are a single household family, but Perceval has several aunties and uncles who he is tremendously affectionate towards. He is extremely protective of his extended family, and despite his small stature, he is ready to defend any of his humans. He is always by our side, like a little shadow following closely, but maintains his distance so we're not in his way when he starts marking spots.

Perceval is my first dog, and we have grown extremely close over the years and have served as each other's +1. He is still young (6 years) and I want to give him the very best chance to be healthy again. I am a single household individual with only one source of income.

Perceval was admitted to the VCA Emergency Animal Hospital with a collapsed lung. His chest was tapped to relieve the air trapped in his chest that wasn't going into his lungs. He was diagnosed with pneumothorax, since we were unable to determine the cause, it was considered spontaneous. His options are an invasive chest surgery, pleurodesis (noninvasive procedure), or humane euthanasia.

Perceval is a very good boy. He doesn't speak often, but when he does it's because he's SO excited to go on a car ride. Sometimes Perceval thinks he's one of us humans and will ask be seated at the dining table so he can be part of conversation. He has become quite a fashionisto with an array of bowties in his closet- he has also impressed everyone with how well he walks in his fancy blue shoes.
