From Trash to Treasure: Help Make Percy's Transformation Possible!

Percy is a young pup that was found at an apartment complex locked in a kennel next to a dumpster amongst trash. A resident witnessed a lady dumping him there. It’s hard to fathom how any person could do this. He’s not trash, he’s a living being and didn’t deserve this at all. He needed help, not to be thrown out. Thankfully that witness took action and got Percy to safety.

Percy was immediately taken to the ER. He has severe skin issues including open sores, pustules and oozing discharge. Fortunately he’s got a great appetite and has been eating well. His bloodwork was surprisingly good but is being monitored to make sure his numbers don’t drop. He tested positive for hookworms and started dewormer.

He’s getting baths and scrubs every 12 hours to try and get some crustiness off. Some of his bigger wounds have puss pockets that are being flushed out. After about 4 days at the ER, Percy was discharged and is now in a foster home. However, he still has a long road ahead. He will continue to need medicated baths and close monitoring.

Update 10/16/24:
We’re two days shy from his month-aversary with us. He’s still slowly recovering from severe skin issues, and hasn’t grown new fur yet, but he will soon. His foster family has fallen in love with him and adore him tons! We can’t wait to see him in another month!

Update 10/31/24:
Percy has made an incredible transformation! His beautiful brindle coat is now growing in and he looks like a completely new dog. The exciting news continues: Percy has been adopted by his foster family! He’ll forever be loved by those who helped Percy heal and get him to where he is today. We are so excited for Percy!

However, his treatment costs remain and any support is greatly appreciated. You guys help make these transformations possible and we couldn’t do what we do without all of you!
