About this campaign

An urgent plea for help.

Pete's heartbreaking story begins on the shoulder of a highway in Virginia, where he was found lying alongside another abandoned Rottweiler. Concerned citizens swiftly rescued these innocent pups, successfully luring one into their car.

But poor Pete was so desperate that he couldn't even stand or lift his head by himself. Pete's condition turned critical when his temperature skyrocketed to a dangerously high 106.9 degrees - almost fatal.

Thankfully, One By One Animal Advocates got wind of the situation and immediately jumped in to offer assistance. "We believe he had been left out in the scorching sun with his thick fur coat, without any access to water," Heather A. tells their rescue supporters.

Pete is a lovable giant weighing 141 pounds and is under the constant care of a dedicated veterinary team. His condition is critical, requiring 26 bags of fluids over several days. His organs are being closely monitored, as they suspect his current state is a result of heat stroke. Without immediate intervention, this gentle soul would not have made it through another moment on the side of the interstate.

"Please help us give him the chance he needs. We can’t do it without your help!" Please don't hesitate; act now and help One By One Animal advocates save Pete.
