About this campaign
We rescued Petey, and he rescued me in June of 2020. He lives with me, my wife, and his 2 human sisters. My wife adopted him for me as a Fathers day surprise. He is training to be my emotional support dog. He adores all of us and when one of us goes out without him, he goes bonkers upon our returning home. He is the "Bestest boy"!
Petey loves to play with everyone. He has never met a human or animal he doesn't want to play with, (including our cousin's two horses)! Whereever we go, if he and I get ahead of the girls; he'll sit and wait for them to catch up. In just 3 months he has learned sit, stay, shake with either hand, and ring the bell to go outside to potty.
I am in between jobs. My wife is out on FMLA. Bills and finances have taken a big hit with this along with COVID-19 reducing my hours, and no unemployment. Petey is an amazing pet and has an incredible calming effect on me with my PTSD.
Petey has had stomach issues since we adopted him. He was picked up as stray by the SPCA at 4 months old. We adopted him when he was 5 months old. He weighed 17 pounds when he was adopted. He has had an ongoing history of gaining weight, then throwing up and not eating. We found out today he has a bowel obstruction and 3 air pockets in his belly.
Petey loves playing with his flirt stick and going to the dog park. He loves the dog park so much, he tried jumping out the window when we drove by. He loves cuddling with anyone of us. His favorite place to sleep is between my wife and I, face buried in either of necks or between our pillows. The only thing he is scared of is fireworks.
