About this campaign
Hughie came into our lives at 6 months old, we got him with hopes of training him to be a mobility service dog for myself due to a vestibular disorder.
Hughie was diagnosed with a significant murmur, then an ultrasound showed he has PDA, without cardiac surgery his life expectancy is between 1-2 years old. We are hoping to get him the life saving surgery he needs.
Hughie loves his big brother Finley, he never hesitates to steal his toys or food. He follows his humans everywhere, and doesn’t believe in space or privacy. He can open doors and loves to surprise our guests with that talent. Belly rubs and cuddles are his favorite. Loves everyone and wouldn’t hesitate to take off with any stranger that shows him some love. He’s gentle with everyone he meets.
Hughie is all puppy—you’d never guess anything is wrong with him. Hughie steals the hearts of everyone he meets, aside from the ornery, he is all snuggles and love. He’s the dog that changed my hard boundary on dogs in the bed. He is the softest lovable
Hughie was diagnosed with a grade 4-5 heart murmur at his first vet visit. Cardiology did an ultrasound and found that he has PDA. PDA is easily corrected with a cardiac surgery, but it costs thousands of dollars. Without surgery puppies usually live 9 months to 2 years, and will eventually succumb to congestive heart failure.
I’ve been unable to work since October due to a vestibular disease, and with my medical bills things have been stretched. We are left with the dilema of raising money for Hughie or rehoming him with someone that can afford his life saving surgery. We love him.
