About this campaign
Phillip was my first cat. I was 23 years old when he was brought in by a client to my previous veterinary job as a stray kitten with a URI. I had always wanted an orange cat and when he was healthy enough, I adopted him. I took him everywhere with me for the first 6 months until we moved into a more permanent home. He currently lives with 3 other cats and 4 humans who love him dearly.
Phillip has been diagnosed with idiopathic chylothorax. An uncommon disease with a guarded prognosis as treatments are not guaranteed to work. He's had an abdominal and thoracic ultrasound, an echocardiogram, several x-rays and blood tests, and 3 chest taps so far. He needs round-the-clock monitoring of his breathing and meds/hand-feeding at least 3 times daily. He will likely need more chest taps
We are so bonded to Phillip. He is the sweetest boy who loves to purr (loud) and is very talkative. He is so affectionate and loves to cuddle and receive kisses. He is also bonded to his 2 brothers Squid and Toad, and his cousin Egg. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him. He's just the most special animal I've ever known. We would do anything for him.
This has been totally unexpected as he is only 7 years old and has been perfectly healthy until now. We are a low-income family and his medical bills are expected to surpass 3,000 which would put us in a situation where we may not be able to get him the treatment he needs.
