About this campaign

Pica was first trapped as a young kitten while living in a small feral colony, where Purradise Ranch had him neutered alongside his mother through a trap-neuter-return effort. Shortly afterward, he disappeared from the colony. Given the high number of predators in the surrounding desert, it was believed he had likely been lost to coyotes or other wildlife.

Several years later, Pica unexpectedly reappeared in the same colony. He was safely trapped and brought to Purradise Ranch, where his mother had already been living. Once in sanctuary care, it became clear that Pica was not feral. While his whereabouts during those missing years remain unknown, it's possible he had been cared for by someone before returning to the colony.

Last year, Pica began showing signs of dental disease and underwent surgery to have several teeth extracted. He recovered well and was comfortable for many months.

Unfortunately, Pica has now developed severe stomatitis, a painful inflammatory condition affecting his mouth. The disease is causing significant pain and weight loss, and his veterinarian has recommended removing his remaining teeth to relieve his discomfort and improve his quality of life.

After surviving years outdoors and finally finding safety at Purradise Ranch, Pica deserves the chance to live without constant pain. Your support will help provide the dental surgery he needs to heal and enjoy a comfortable, healthy future.
