About this campaign

We adopted Picasso from the Franklin County Dog Shelter on Labor Day Weekend of 2015. I saw his photo online and immediately fell in love with his black and white spots and expressive ears. He has lived in three different houses, made friends with everyone he meets, and taken many adventures with his family. He is a 9 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix with an affectionate and silly nature .

Picasso began limping on a walk, but his limp did not improve for months. After several appointments, tests and thousands of dollars spent, Picasso was diagnosed with a Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor as well as Thyroid Tumors. The doctors at the OSU Veterinary Medical Center believe both diseases are unrelated and operable, and treatment will extend and improve his quality of life.

Picasso is hilarious and adorable. He likes to prop himself up on chairs and couches like a little person. He is totally in love with his people, and recognizes his friends when they come to visit. He loves to hike, play, bark at rabbits and find stinky things to roll in. He cohabitates with a cat, but despite all of our efforts, they are not the best of friends.

I worked for a grant funded program that ended in May and I am not starting another full time position until the fall, and so our financial situation has changed greatly this summer. Unfortunately, delaying Picasso's treatment until my new job starts is not recommended.
