About this campaign

After every New Year’s Eve, countless dogs are left lost and terrified, and found miles away from home in fear from fireworks, unsure of what comes next. This is exactly what happened to four-year-old Pierre.

Just days into the new year, Pierre was found lying injured on train tracks near McAllen, TX. Despite being microchipped, his family has not responded, so CAMO Rescue stepped in to give him the care he urgently needed.

Pierre was suffering from severe jaw trauma that required immediate, lifesaving surgery, which he has already undergone. Unfortunately, the damage goes far beyond a simple fracture. He is dealing with TMJ complications and currently has an external fixator that will need ongoing adjustments. In total, Pierre will need three separate surgeries to fully repair the trauma he’s endured. Between emergency care, diagnostics, CT scans, and surgeries, his medical costs have already run the rescue into the thousands.

While Pierre is recovering well, his journey is far from over. He will need months of intensive therapy and specialized feeding to help his jaw heal and regain normal function. We are fully committed to giving this sweet boy every chance at a pain-free life!

With so many animals coming into our rescue, our resources are stretched thin. Your support makes it possible for us to continue providing the highest level of care to dogs like Pierre. Every donation helps give him the future he deserves.

3/18/26 Update

Thanks to all of your generous donations, Pierre is now doing great. His fixator was removed a couple weeks ago, and he started eating kibble last week. He's currently listed for adoption now!! He's SUCH a sweet boy, and he's ready for his forever home!
