About this campaign

Piper is 7 years old... (my little 2nd-grader now). Her birthdate is February 3, 2012 and I have had her since she was a tiny puppy, only a few weeks old. She was solid black with tiny golden eyebrows and small enough to fit in the palm of my hand. She came home on St. Patrick's Day and I feel like I hit the jackpot in being able have her in my life. She is my entire world.

Piper is well-cared for and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. She is tall for a yorkie and weighs 20 pounds. She is active, playful, and overall very healthy.

From my college graduation and new career adventures as a teacher, to traumatic experiences and job loss; from the birth of my nephew Michael in 2014, to the deaths of both of my mom's parents (MeeMaw & Pappy) over the course of 6 months in 2017; from budding romances and new loves, to breakups and immense heartache; from several cross-country moves (from Fort Smith, AR to Benicia, California in the East Bay, then to Springdale, AR, then to Beaumont, TX, then Nacogdoches, TX and now finally Houston, TX) and countless apartments, to helping me tend to my dad while he battled tonsil cancer and then helping, to helping all of us while we struggled to recover from the devastation that Hurricane Harvey brought to my family in 2017, Piper has been by my side through it all. She has been with me through the most tumultuous years of my life and I am so thankful that I have had her to comfort me and to give me a reason to keep going.

Piper's condition is treatable and mostly reversible. She is NOT a lost cause. She was just unfortunate to be adopted by a mom who can't afford her emergency hospital bills.
