Piper is a 6-year-old Dachshund Mix in Huntington, WV, who needs $1,215 for Mammary Mass Surgery.

When she wasn't needed any longer, she was dumped at a shelter.

But no one wanted to adopt a dog with unsightly tumors.

"Her body bears the scars of being overbred; Piper's journey hasn't been an easy one," Heather A., with One By One Animal Advocates, tells Waggle. "The toll of countless litters has left her with multiple mammary masses that require urgent attention."

The nonprofit group saved Piper and is rushing to raise the money for surgery to remove the masses, send them to pathology, and spay her.

"Join us in advocating for Piper and other dogs like her who have suffered from irresponsible breeding practices," Heather says. "Together, we can create awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering pets and prevent them from experiencing the same hardships as Piper."
