About this campaign

We have a special girl to introduce to you - her name is Piper. She was surrendered to the shelter on 3/1, and it's easy to see she was a happy-go-lucky girl with the biggest smile. However, day by day, her smile began to fade, and she spent most of her time not wanting to get off her cot.

The medical director suspected pain was at the root of her personality change, and she was right. Piper was sent to Proctorville Animal Clinic for a complete orthopedic exam and it turns out she has two torn canine cruciate ligaments (think ACL) in her back legs, making any movement painful.

You have witnessed miracle after miracle, and life-changing transformations in some of the animals we have helped, and we are asking you to help us give Piper the same happy outcome by donating today.

Each leg will cost approximately $1,800 to repair but, once completed, Piper will have the gift of pain-free mobility. At only three years old, this is a crucial moment for her.

Piper has waited two painful months, but tomorrow is her day. She will have surgery on one leg at a time, and Dr Mike Dyer is using new technology to give our shelter gal the gold standard of care and her best opportunity for success. We have been managing Piper’s pain as much as we can with medication, but there is no substitute for her surgery and we need your help.
