About this campaign
Piper joined our family at four months old. My daughter, Celeste (four years old at the time), had been begging me for a kitten since she could talk. She has always loved cats and wanted one of her own. So when I found out that a local cat rescue was in need of placing all their cats before their relocation could begin, it seemed like the perfect time to make Celeste's dream come true.
Piper started as a playful, happy kitten. A few months in she started getting sick. After another year it was found that she has stomatitis, a condition that compromises her immune system and attacks the normal plague of her teeth. It causes intense inflammation, pain, and weight loss. The most accepted treatment is removal of the teeth. We are pursuing this with Perkiomen Animal Hospital.
Piper is a such a special and cuddly member of our family. She is a wonderful big sister to our second kitten, Wanda, and a true loving spirit animal to Celeste. She is so tolerant of the antics of a child, allowing Celeste to push her in a baby stroller, carry her around, brush her, and still curls up in bed next to Celeste each and every night. They are the cutest bonded pair.
Getting Piper back to a happy and healthy cat will mean everything to our family. It's difficult on a fixed income to cope with unexpected medical expenses, especially while coping with my own medical needs and expenses. Any help or support is more than appreciated.
