My dog died on Dec.31,2024. We weren't going to get another but we got lonely. We looked on line. A woman had a German Shepherd we were going to adopt. She asked if we wanted both her dogs. She moved and didn't have a yard for them. We said ok, but the German Shepherd was to high energy. Also she missed him and wanted him back. We kept the black lab. He looks like the one we just lost.

I noticed he would lift his back legs up and limp. I took him to the vet( PAWS). He said he had ACL tears in both legs and needed surgery. He is only 2 1/2 years old.

We only had him for two months but he is the most affectionate dog. He listens. He doesn't destroy anything. He is full of kisses and loves everybody. He is calm and very friendly.

This is our fifth dog and none of our others ever had ACL tear. He is young and I want him to enjoy life without being in pain . I didn't know when I adopted him that he would need surgery. The previous owner never caught it. ACL surgery is very expensive and I am retired.
