Poppy is a 5 month old Mix-Breed in San Angelo , TX, who needs $2,000 for PDA Closure via Interventional Surgery.

Little Poppy was almost hit by a car on a busy road and her now foster happened to stop to get her out of harm’s way. When she stopped to pick her up she noticed she was out of breath and had a distended belly. We were able to take her into our rescue and get her to the vet. She is now with a medical foster home in McAllen Texas.

Sadly when the vet examined Poppy and took an x-ray of her chest and heart it was evident her heart was quite enlarged. That vet recommended a full cardiology work up with a vet specialist and an echocardiogram as a follow up. The specialist diagnosed her with a PDA which requires heart surgery immediately at a Veterinarian Cardiology hospital.

Poppy is the loveliest pup. She absolutely loves everyone and giving kisses is her favorite. Despite her debilitating congenital heart condition she has a love of life and wants to life a full life post surgery. Poppy has done so well with all sizes of dogs and is the perfect cuddle bug.

We are a small animal rescue and this extensive specialized surgery is incredibly expensive. We simply lack the funds needed to cover the costs of the full procedure as it is expected to top $7000. Both cardiologists handling her case say this PDA surgery will save her life.
