PopTart is a 10-year-old Walker/Pointer Hound Mix in Ringgold, GA, who needs $1,200 for Surgery.

PopTart was an 18 month old rescue that we adopted in Sept of 2013. We decided to find a dog for our severely autistic son, moreless as an emotional support animal. I saw him and said I have to him. He was so chill and relaxed. After the approval process, he was brought to us. He turned out to be the best dog we ever had. He has been there laying by our son's side when he was upset and happy.

Right now he is in 2 apts. My husband and I have split, and PopTart goes back and forth. He is like our best friend; always happy to see us walk through the door. He loves our 8 grandkids, too. The tail goes to wagging when they come over.
Most times he sleeps with me, and my cat Oscar. He usually puts his head on my pillow to fall asleep, and allows me to share my pillow with him. We all love him

He is just really a good boy. Easily trainable, and he is spoiled rotten. He loves his ropes, his treats, tennis balls, and at Christmas time, he gets a squeaky toy, but removes the squeaker immediately. Just about everything he does makes us laugh, but nothing more than when he and the cat start chasing and playing together. Poor thing hates thunder, or any loud noises though. He hides under tabl

He has turned out to be our most costly animal by far, from having a mirror fall on him and him needing surgery, to a bout of pancreatitis, and now to this. But he is family, and with family, we take care of each other. When he was at the veterinary hospital last, they gave me an estimate of between $900 to $1200 for his care.

I don't start my job until the end of November, and I have just moved into my apt, which cost a lot between rent and utilities, and having to buy food, etc. My husband and I and both sons are all on Disability/SSI, so finances are very tight.
