Prentiss came into our lives as a 2 week old foster kitten through our local rescue, Taylor Co SPCA! I personally bottle fed her for the next 6 weeks along with 2 of her siblings. Prentiss chose me as her person, so we decided to make her a part of our family. She is absolutely the sweetest girl. She’s only 8 months old and is showing us she has the fight to live.

Prentiss has been perfectly healthy, or so we thought, until just a few days ago. She became so sick so quickly. At her vet visit we learned she had a UTI, but our vet became concerned about dry FIP. Her bloodwork results were in within 24 hours, showing she is positive for FIP. Dr. Shuffett with the Animal Clinic Office has been very transparent about the disease and the medication needed.

Prentiss is my soul cat. She connects with me like no other cat I currently have at the moment. Prentiss loves everyone though, and loves our other cats. She is my child, not just my cat.

We are a one household income. I as a teacher, do not have a salary will allow for extenuating stretches in financial situations without planning first. This is definitely an extenuating circumstance, as Prentiss needs to start treatment ASAP, or it will be 100% fatal.
