About this campaign

We adopted Preston from the shelter. We chose him because we know most people only look to adopt younger dogs. He is the only pet in the house. We’ve only had him since January but fell in love with him instantly and can’t imagine being without him. He fell in love with us really fast too, he knew he belonged at our house.

Preston loves to go for car rides. All we have to do is open the door and he jumps right in even if we’re not going nowhere. He loves to go for walks, loves snacks, and playing with his toys. His favorite one is his bee, the very first toy we got him. But his favorite thing in the world is to play ball. You’d think a dog that age wouldn’t be able to jump up and catch but he does it every time.

Seeing him go from acting like a puppy with so much energy, running around everywhere to not being able to stand is heartbreaking. I just want to see my boy play again and take him for walks.

Preston has cervical myelopathy. An intervertebral disk pressing on his spinal cord. He is now paralyzed because of it, can’t stand, can’t walk. They’re not sure how it happened, could of jumped off the bed the wrong way. He needs surgery to remove that disk then at home therapy to be able to walk again.

Preston has so much energy. I have no idea where he gets it from because most of the time he has more energy than me. He plays nonstop. We’re getting ready for bed and here he comes with his favorite ball, ready to play. Bees are his favorite toys, he has 4. Maybe yellow is his favorite color if he can see it.
