My husband and I lost our rescue dog Daisy last August 2024. We weren't exactly ready for another pet when Mama Annabelle & her kitten Prince Beetlejuice started visiting the elderly neighbor we helped take care of. They basically ran away from their house and lived in the ceiling.
Eventually we asked the original owners if we could keep them and they said yes.

Mama Annabelle and Prince Beetlejuice with their upbringing seemed to think anything was food. Including plastic and metal! My husband and I packed everything we could think of. But one day he managed to find a sharp piece of metal that got stuck in his mouth. Trying to remove it, he ended up swallowing it. We took him to our family vet Isa Companion Animal Hospital. The only choice was surgery.

Beetlejuice and his Mama are bonded. When he was a kitten she protected him. When we tried to give them back to the original owners, she took him & ran away again. She gave me crazy eyes at first when I tried to hold him. Now she's our cuddly girl. Beetlejuice is a nut. Lol! Runs around with her, or with a toy in his mouth. He waits at the door when the hubby comes home. He plays fetch!

Hubby and I met in 2018 in a shelter, after losing our jobs, mothers, and places to live. Now we live in a motel where we work but it just covers the rent. In the past year we have helped 3 elderly neighbors too. We love helping, but is hard for us to ask for help.
