Pumpkin is a 6.5-year-old Mastiff in Georgetown , TX, who needs $1,960 for Specialty Spay and Anal Gland Surgery.

Pumpkin was a gift from my daughter and son when my son moved out @18 and I was an emotional wreck. Pumpkin was not expected to survive being the runt and less than half the size of her littermates. I nursed her to health from 5 weeks old and to this day she will gently eat from a spoon like a good mannered lady when offered a treat. I think she thinks she’s human.

Pumpkin sleeps at moms side of the bed in her own little doggie chaise lounge, that she occasionally shares with her younger feline brother Bagheera. She tried to mate with a strapping Dogue de Bordeaux when she was 4 but for whatever reason he didn’t want to mate with her. She was immensely disappointed, but now has a younger boyfriend (rottenshepherd rescue) so a spay is a must.

Punkymonkey likes to tiptoe into my office in the hopes that I will not notice her sneaking in. She also makes the cutest little stinky faces when you put something in her face that she finds revolting, and will paw it out of your hands. She is my emotional support animal and I can’t imagine life without her in it. Everyone loves this sweet pupe’ face! <3 (and she loves every one)

Our veterinarian has been prescribing antibiotics every month for an anal gland infection that will not clear. She is on her 4th round and sedate with an anal flush OR complete gland removal is next. This is risky for Pumpkin since she has a heart murmur and a “Laparoscopy” spay has been scheduled for the same time. (More $ for reduced sedation x)

I have been doing OK, even though it is cramping my finances with these unexpected charges at the vet every month. This is starting to amount to a car payment every month. I will not be able to afford the two surgical procedures without taking out a loan or a credit card,etc
