At just 2 months old, Pym was found alone on the streets of Paterson—her tiny body wracked with pain, her paw crushed beyond repair. Bones were exposed. Maggots crawled through the wound. She was slowly dying.

But Pym wasn’t ready to give up.

Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, Inc was contacted and immediately rushed her to the vet.

There she was stabilized and given pain relief. Sadly, her injury is too severe to save her limb and amputation is her only chance at survival.

And yet, through it all, Pym has remained bright-eyed and brave. This little warrior still purrs, still plays, and still believes in the kindness of people. 💛

RBARI is happy to share that Pym is doing incredibly well and had all her staples removed from surgery! This brave girl has fought through amputation, a serious infection, and intensive care — including hydrotherapy, medicated baths, and multiple antibiotics. And through it all, she’s transformed from a frightened, feral baby into a sweet, affectionate, and trusting little soul.

Pym’s recovery isn’t just physical—it’s emotional, too. Every day, she grows more confident, more curious, and more connected to the world around her.
