Me and my kids adopted Ramone about 8 years ago. We think he’s between 9 and 10 years old. My son and I went to an adoption event with the expectation of adopting a little gray cat. My son saw Ramone, in one of the crates and he was kicking and pushing on the walls of the crate. We thought “awww, he’s so cute. He’s playing” but really he was trying to break free.

We asked if we could take him out of the crate and the staff escorted us to a small room and let us play with him. He was running all around, happy to be out of the crate! He would come back and forth between me and my son to be petted. After about 5 minutes we knew we wanted Ramone to be our cat.

We didn’t change his name because he looks like a Ramone and we thought it’s a really cool name.

Ramone settled in at home right away and we slowly introduced him to his new cat sister Pricilla. Once they got over wanting to kill each other we let them meet face to face and they became instant friends. They would cuddle up on the bed together, run up and down our long hallway and sit and look out the window at the birds together.

Ramone was a skinny cat. He lived on the street before being rescued and probably didn’t get much to eat. Once he was home that changed. He quickly learned how great it was to have food whenever he wanted it.
