About this campaign
In April 2019, my daughter who lives in Grand Bahama caught glimpses of a male & female kitten playing in her yard. Her 6 Golden Retriever dogs welcomed them into the pack, but the cats would only let her feed them. Years later, after all her dogs died, she was left with the 2 cats, Rebecca & Snagglepuss, who preferred to stay outside but would come inside if it rained or was cold outside.
Rebecca did not come for food on Sunday, 8th December, 2024 and showed up on Friday, 13th with serious facial injuries from an apparent dog bite: dislocated jaw & facial fractures. She is currently being treated at Freeport Veterinary Hospital, but needs to be flown to the U.S. for treatment from an orthopedic vet, as there are none on that island.
Rebecca is a very dainty and loving cat. She is very close to her Brother, Snaggy. She is a fiercely independent huntress and is not afraid of dogs. She evidently crossed paths with a dog that was not friendly and paid a great price. If she survives this, I will keep her confined to my home and care for her as my own.
We do not have the means to get "Becky" to Florida to receive the surgery she desperately needs. Her vet bills so far total over $ 600. We desperately need help to give her a second chance at life. Thus far, she has shown that she has the will to survive! Please help us!
