About this campaign

We adopted Reggie in April 2018 from the humane society as our first pet baby. He lives with us in Sarasota, his cat sister Smudge, and our two dogs Cooper and Lola. He has always been a healthy, happy cat, and honestly has run the household for five years.

We call Reggie our roommate because he does what he wants, but he loves to cuddle on our chest at night before sleep. When we lost our second cat, Zara, his temperament definitely changed and we basically got Smudge so he would have a friend. He's a sweet cuddly boy who also takes no sh*t.

Reg has gained some weight in the past few years when we moved into our new home, as he would run outside and we think someone has been sneaking him treats. His big size shouldn't be mistaken as laziness, as he is mostly muscle. My favorite thing about Reg is how cuddly he is if you sit in a specific chair, or his night time cuddles and pets with his loud purs.

Reggie began throwing up Friday 9/25. We monitored him and when he peed on the ground a dark color Saturday morning, we took him to the emergency vet at Suncoast Emergency Vet in Sarasota FL. After testing and xrays, he had blockage and crystals forming in his bladder. They cleared the blockage, and we followed strict discharge instructions. 9/1 he peed bright red blood, and has another block.

The first blockage cost us ~$3,800 that was our emergency fund. We just signed off on $750 to save his life, and are waiting on further instructions and potential surgery costs.
