Remington (Remi) is a 3-year-old Boykin Spaniel in Pensacola, FL, who needs $2,000 for Emergency Surgery.

Remi is one of those dogs that you didn't know you needed in your life until you got one. She has been the BEST dog (and I really hate to say dog...because let's be honest, she's really a human). She was born on a family farm in Georgia. When she was 8 weeks old we drove from Florida to go get her. She was the biggest out of her litter and had a personality to match. We knew she was meant to be!

First of all, don't let Remington hear you call her a "pet." She doesn't even know she's a dog and she wouldn't believe you if you told her otherwise. She is a kid and she is definitely human. As far as she's concerned, our (actual) children are her brother and sister and she loves them so. She plays with the kids and when she's tired, she props herself up on the couch & lays her head on a pillow.

We once took her to a dog park where she could play and run and swim in the water. There were other dog friends that were excited to see her. As soon as we walked into the gate she immediately wanted to leave. She looked confused and terrified so we left. We walked over to take our (actual) kids to the park and next thing I know, Remi is sliding down the kids slide as if she belonged with humans!

Remi became very sick 2 weeks ago. She stopped eating and got very lethargic. After many X-rays and labs, the Emergency Vet found an obstruction of a foreign body in her digestive tract. She was so dehydrated that they had to fix that before they could take her into surgery to save her life. 19 staples later, the culprit was a foreign body lodged in her duodenum, blocking her pancreas.

One of the most unbearable thoughts is knowing that Remi has so much life left to live but having to put her down because we cannot afford the emergency. She is truly our family!
We are majorly struggling to make ends meet and can't put ourselves into more debt.
