About this campaign

Rex came into our lives through serendipity. I told my fiance my ideal dog was a chocolate or black lab. Rex was given to us, as her previous owners couldn't take her with them to Arizona. Rex was only 1 when we got her. 7 years later she's the most energetic and intelligent doggo with the playfulness of a puppy.

Rex stepped on some glass on one of her walks. We wrapped her paw in an ace bandage for 2 days, as it was bleeding. One of those days we worked a long shift and couldn't make it home in time to let her paw breathe. It became swollen. We got a vet appointment 2 days after her swelling and was told circulation was cut off too long from the swelling. We were given antibiotics and pain medication.

Rex insists that ball is life. Her favorite human is anyone who talks to her in a baby voice. Rex's intelligence makes her stubborn. Nothing a little treat won't help with. She prefers her dad over her mom because mom is more strict. She gained 15lbs with dad. Good thing she loves running in open fields because that's how mom made her lose 15lbs.

An unexpected diagnoses. We're told that if we can't get the swelling to go down, a $2000 amputation might be needed to remove potential dead tissue. We just want to see her excitement for life again. My fiance and I have exhausted our rainy days funds from our recent move.
