Rey is a beautiful 8 year old girl who had a rough start in life. I adopted her in 2021 and her previous life before becoming part of my family was heartbreaking. She was a hoarder house cat, bound to a cage for nearly 24 hours a day. By the time I found Rey, she had been adopted and returned TWICE within days for "being too shy." To say she had a rough start would be putting it lightly..

In October, a sonogram showed a mass in Rey's small intestine. A week later, I had her at the surgeon at Animal Surgical Center. They perfromed surgery on 11/5 and removed both a cancerous tumor and an intussusception. She had a consult with the oncologist at VMCLI who recommended she undergo a year of chemo, as there may still be miniscule cancer cells that can spread aggressively and quickly.

Rey is quite literally the love of my life. She is a shy, but very bossy at the same time. She wants me to lay on the counch with a fuzzy blanket every night so she can snuggle, and wants to go to bed to cuddle against me when it gets late. She is attached to me and I to her. She's sweet and the most gentle cat I have ever seen. She is loved by all and deserves more than 8 years of life after this

Between bloodwork, medicine, x-rays, ultrasounds, a major surgery, an emergency hospitalization 2 days later for pneumonia, I have exhausted all funds. I am now relying on help from friends. Chemotherapy is expensive and I would do anything to have her healthy again.
